SARATOGA, New York (PNN) - October 23, 2022 - An upstate New York judge ruled that citing fear of catching COVID-19 is no longer a valid excuse to continue thwarting the state’s election law regarding absentee ballots.

Saratoga County Supreme Court Justice Dianne Freestone ordered local election boards to stop counting absentee ballots they’ve already received. Freestone directed the election officials to preserve the absentee ballots until after Election Day, November 8, or after a Republican lawsuit is resolved.

Her ruling did not invalidate ballots already mailed.

LANSING, Michigan (PNN) - October 22, 2022 - Governor Gretchen Whitmer is dangerously close to losing reelection in Michigan as Republican challenger Tudor Dixon continues to close the gap, according to a new poll.

Dixon, formerly a conservative commentator on the weekly program America’s Voice Live, is well within the margin of error after receiving 44.8% of likely votes, just 3% less than Whitmer - who polled at 47.8% - Real Clear Politics reported. Whitmer, who has been governor since 2019, has slowly lost support since May when a Target-Insyght/MIRS poll showed her 37 points ahead of Dixon.

PHOENIX, Arizona (PNN) - October 21, 2022 - The report landed in the Arizona secretary of state’s online portal Monday night, around dinnertime. It contained an urgent message.

“There’s a group of people hanging out near the ballot drop box filming and photographing my wife and I as we approached the drop box and accusing us of being a mule,” said the report, which was written by a voter in the Phoenix suburbs. “They took photographs of our license plate and of us and then followed us out of the parking lot in one of their cars continuing to film.”

WASHINGTON (PNN) - October 20, 2022 - Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (Kalif.) on October 18 brushed aside calls by a member of her caucus for new leadership.

The comments in question were made by Rep. Elissa Slotkin (Mich.), who said during a TV appearance that the Party needs “new blood” to lead it moving forward.

“I have been very vocal, including with my own leadership in the House, that we need a new generation. We need new blood, period, across the Democrat Party, in the House, the Senate, and the White House,” said Slotkin.

PHOENIX, Arizona (PNN) - October 17, 2022 - Former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard is flying into Phoenix tomorrow to campaign with Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake.

Fresh off announcing her departure from the Democrat Party, Tulsi Gabbard will campaign for rising MAGA star Kari Lake, who is running for Arizona governor.

Lake’s campaign announced Gabbard, who used to be a representative from Hawaii, will appear for an Arizona Young Republican Engagement Forum in Chandler, Arizona, on Tuesday.

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (PNN) - October 17, 2022 - The Florida Department of Education is planning to revoke or suspend the teaching licenses of K-3 teachers who discuss gender identity or sexuality with their students, according to the Washington Post, citing a new rule published by the department.

The rule, proposed in September by Education Commissioner Manny Diaz, Jr., would enforce a 2021 state law that prohibits instruction on gender identity and sexuality for children in kindergarten through third grade - the Parental Rights in Education Act, colloquially known by opponents as the "don't say gay" law.

October 17, 2022 - While this sounds like a political post from the title, it isn’t, really. It’s about our quality of life here in Amerika.

It used to be that certain things were like dog whistles politically. If you wanted to get a political Party in line behind you, you ran on platforms about controversial issues that didn’t have a lot of gray area, like gun control or abortion. If the midterms had been held closer to the time of the Supreme Court leak about Roe vs. Wade, I think our elections might have been colored by this. It would be much the same if an incident occurred that made us genuinely fear for our right to bear arms.
