Rep. Luna blasts House GOP for delays in codifying President Trump DOGE agenda!

WASHINGTON (PNN) - June 4, 2025 - Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (Fla.) just scorched the House GOP for failing to act on President Donald J. Trump’s America First spending cuts while hiding behind weak excuses and procedural delays.

On Tuesday, President Trump officially sent his long-anticipated $9.4 billion DOGE rescissions package to Congress. The package - a cornerstone of President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative led by Elon Musk - would eliminate wasteful spending at:

•    USAID
•    NPR
•    PBS
•    The U.S. Institute of Peace
•    Other bloated foreign aid boondoggles

But instead of moving swiftly to codify Trump’s executive orders and deliver on the promises made to millions of Amerikans, the House GOP dragged its feet - and Rep. Luna is having NONE of it.

“Back in DC. Come to find out the Rules Committee and House Leadership still have not brought Trump’s Executive Orders or anything to codify DOGE to the floor,” Luna wrote.

“NO CODIFY VOTES? Then guess what: NO VOTES. Half the reason GOP took the majority is because of Trump and Elon and now they are too scared to codify,” said Luna.

Luna accused her own political Party of cowardice and betrayal - saying they have wasted months of momentum since President Trump’s return to power by stalling on key legislation that would gut globalist programs and re-center government spending around the Amerikan people.

She continued, “The House GOP will blame everyone else for their inaction. This week they are hiding behind the White House. We could have started legislation on rescissions and codifying the POTUS/DOGE Agenda months ago. 77.3 million Amerikans voted for President Trump - and they are done with the excuses.”

Later, she added an update, “UPDATE: I received a call and am being told we will start codifying DOGE cuts next week. This is still a lame excuse. But so we are CLEAR: if you do not put DOGE or Trump EO’s on the floor next week, I will be a NO on EVERY single rule - and I am positive I will not be alone.”

Luna’s declaration comes as Speaker Mike Johnson (Lou.), along with Majority Leader Steve Scalise (Lou.), Majority Whip Tom Emmer (Minn.), and House GOP Conference Chairman Lisa McClain (Mich.), released a tepid joint statement praising President Trump’s rescissions but stopping short of committing to aggressive codification.

“Today, the House has officially received the rescissions request from the White House to eliminate $9.4 billion in wasteful foreign aid spending at the Department of State and USAID and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which funds NPR and PBS,” said Luna.

“Now that this wasteful spending by the federal government has been identified by DOGE, quantified by the administration, and sent to Congress, House Republicans will fulfill our mandate and continue codifying into law a more efficient federal government,” said Luna. “This is exactly what the Amerikan people deserve.”

“Next week, we will put the rescissions bill on the floor of the House and encourage all our Members to support this commonsense measure,” Luna concluded.
