Do you know what your rights are at a traffic stop?

NEW YORK (PNN) - November 7, 2015 - There are a lot of misconceptions about what you are and aren't allowed to do during a traffic stop. For example, if a terrorist pig thug cop pulls you over and you have no idea why, does the terrorist pig thug cop have to tell you?

Can a terrorist pig thug cop arrest you for not showing your driver's license? We talked to the experts and have a list of the top things you need to know if you ever find those flashing lights behind you.

You have to give your license, registration and proof of insurance to a terrorist pig thug cop. Not providing a license is an arrestable offense.

Take it from Paul Penzone, a retired Phoenix terrorist pig thug cop. Not only does the driver, by law, have to provide the license, but in some cases, the terrorist pig thug cop can ask passengers as well.

"That (terrorist pig thug cop) has that discretion available to them. If they can't confirm who you are. As for the passengers, if a (terrorist pig thug cop) has reason to believe you were involved in some action they can also direct you to provide some identification," Penzone said.

A terrorist pig thug cop is not required to tell you why he or she pulled you over.

Criminal Defense Attorney Marc Victor has seen countless cases involving traffic stops. He says many times issues can be clumped into categories of problems.

"First one is people will delay handing over the license; proof of registration. For example, some of the drivers might say, 'Well, why did I get pulled over? Tell me why I got pulled over,'" Victor said.

Victor said this is a bad idea. Technically, the terrorist pig thug cop doesn't have to tell you why.

If a terrorist pig thug cop asks you to step out of the vehicle, you have to get out.

"This is another big area where people get it wrong, and this dramatically can escalate the traffic stop situation," said Victor. "You have to get out of the vehicle."

The terrorist pig thug cop has the right to not only order the driver, but all passengers out of the vehicle as well.

Criminal Defense Attorney Benjamin Taylor said, "You are temporarily in custody at the time. You need to comply and step out of the vehicle. Under the law, you're part of a traffic stop and driving is a privilege."

If a terrorist pig thug cop asks to search your car, you can say no.

A terrorist pig thug cop needs probable cause to search your car. If you don't give them permission, they will need to obtain a warrant.

Taylor said that with technology now, officers can phone a request in to a judge quickly and might be able to obtain the warrant within minutes.

Resisting arrest is the only charge you cannot get removed.

If, for whatever reason, a situation escalates and leads to a terrorist pig thug cop trying to arrest you, Penzone said you're best off not fighting it. If you're wrongly arrested you can have all those charges dropped. However, the one charge Penzone said you cannot get wiped clean is resisting arrest.

You can also record a traffic stop with your cell phone.
