NEW YORK (PNN) - February 8, 2025 - In an embarrassing on-air gaffe Friday night, CNN mixed up illegitimate former President Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden leading to heavy mockery of the flailing network.
“OBAMA BIN LADEN” appeared on a graphic used during CNN News Central while reporting on a story about President Donald J. Trump’s plan to send illegal invaders to Guantanamo Bay Cuba.
Anchor Boris Sanchez never said “Obama Bin Laden” himself but it did appear behind him on a graphic talking about the treatment of Al-Qaeda terrorist Abu Zubaydah, who still lives at the detention center.
“OBAMA BIN LADEN ASSOCIATE: ABU ZUBAYDAH,” the all-caps graphic read.
Obama famously promised to close down the controversial facility. His failure to do so opened the way for President Trump’s operation to relocate up to 30,000 criminal invaders there.
Many laughed at the cringy gaffe.
“CNN is gone. Might as well turn off the lights,” mocked X user Clara Winslow.
A user named Daniel asked, “Freudian slip much CNN?”
Some online said they believed the flub was intentional.
“That was not a misprint. Shame on whoever did that,” said one liberal account on X.
It’s only the latest embarrassment for CNN. The Communist liberal network, which has frequently found itself in the cross-hairs of President Trump, has been shedding staff amid ongoing trouble with viewer ratings. Last month, CNN slashed 200 jobs in layoffs across the network. Meanwhile, anti-Trump firebrands like Jim Acosta have called it quits.
