DENVER, Colorado - August 14, 2010 - Denver’s Office of the Independent Monitor and Denver Police are clashing over whether officers should be fired in the apparent beating of two men in Lodo - an incident captured on police video.

Independent Monitor Richard Rosenthal is recommending that the officers be fired, but Denver new Manager of Safety Ron Perea only disciplined the officers for filing an inaccurate police report about the April 4, 2009 incident.

LA PORTE, Indiana - August 13, 2010  - During a recent neighborhood sweep in the city of La Porte, officers and deputies from the La Porte Police and County Sheriff’s departments stopped people at random to check their IDs.

But some area residents have been questioning the legality of such a sweep, and whether or not officers had the right to do what they did.

The lawsuit alleges that the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has a "widespread practice" of unjustified shootings, reports the Florida Times-Union.

WATERTOWN, New York (PNN) - August 11, 2010 - Fort Drum is going to start sending out two person "courtesy patrols" to local bars and restaurants several nights a week. The patrols will target fights, drinking and driving and other misbehavior.
