Killer cop charged with lesser offense after running down pedestrian!
FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida (PNN) - June 30, 2010 - A former police officer has been sentenced on a lesser charge after he was accused of killing a pedestrian.
Former Fort Lauderdale Police officer Alexander Griss, 26, was found guilty Wednesday morning of reckless driving for hitting a woman with his police cruiser.
Griss was off-duty, traveling 92 miles per hour down Federal Highway, when he hit the victim back on June 2006.
Jurors could have convicted Griss with vehicular homicide but decided on a lesser charge.
Griss faces up to 90 days behind bars; the woman he killed remains dead and her family is deprived of her presence for the rest of their lives. Is this another example of Amerikan injustice?
