WASHINGTON – December 31, 2009 - After $787 billion in stimulus spending and $700 billion in bank bailouts, 2010 is fast shaping up to be the year of the federal budget diet.

Bipartisan support is growing in Congress for action to stabilize the nation's bulging debt, which is now $12.1 trillion. Influential experts from former Federal Reserve Board chairman Alan Greenspan to former Comptroller General David Walker have joined the cause.

Treasury claims majority stake in GMAC!

WASHINGTON - December 30. 2009 - The Treasury Department agreed to invest another $3.8 billion in Detroit-based GMAC and will own a majority of the auto finance company.

In all, the government will have invested $17.2 billion in GMAC and now holds 56.3% of the company, up from 35.4%. The latest infusion is less than the $5.6 billion forecast earlier this year. The government swapped $3 billion of its investment for the increase in its equity in GMAC.

NEW YORK - December 28, 2009 - Illegitimate President Obama has said the world would have been better off if the entire financial system had been more like Amerika’s small banks.

Legislators tried to ease their burden, often at the expense of their bigger competitors. Community bankers even won a meeting last week with the illegitimate president to try to persuade him to reduce regulatory red tape.

Debt will continue to dominate in 2010!

LONDON, England - December 27, 2009 - It’s too early to say how history will remember 2009. Was it the year we cleaned up the wreckage of the crash, and began to move towards the sunlit uplands, or was it just some months of nervous calm before the real damage done to the economy in the boom years came crashing onto our heads?
