DES MOINES, Iowa - May 24, 2010 - Eight of the nine people accused of accessing Barack Obama’s student loan records without permission made their initial appearances in a Davenport courtroom Monday and entered not guilty pleas.

The ninth, Gary N. Grenell, 58, of Coralville, was out of the country and set to return, his attorney told Judge Celeste Bremer.

The rest had their trial date set for July 6 with a preliminary hearing on June 14.

No new details about the case or the intentions of each defendant were disclosed at the hearing. They each remained free on recognizance bonds.

Obama calls for international order instead of U.S. sovereignty!

WASHINGTON - May 24, 2010 – Illegitimate President Obama is facing criticism for his declaration over the weekend that he would seek a new international order, with some questioning how much U.S. sovereignty the regime is willing to cede in exchange for more global cooperation.

Obama, delivering the commencement speech Saturday at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, said that "stronger international standards and institutions" and stronger alliances can resolve challenges ranging from terrorism to nuclear proliferation to climate change to economic decline.

"Our adversaries would like to see Amerika sap its strength by overextending our power," said Obama. "So we have to shape an international order that can meet the challenges of our generation."

Brothers embark on walk across Amerika to fight corporate personhood!

SAN FRANCISCO, Kalifornia - May 23, 2010 - Two brothers in their late sixties are setting out on a journey they hope will "restore (freedom) to Amerika." Starting out from San Francisco, Robin and Laird Monahan have begun a 3000-mile hike that will take them across ten states to Washington, DC.

Along the way, the Monahans hope to rally opposition to the controversial U.S. Supreme Court ruling in the case of Citizens United v. FEC. As the Times-Standard pointed out in a short piece on the Monahan brothers, the decision overturned sections of the McCain-Feingold campaign finance law, and ruled that corporations are entitled to some of the same rights as people.

ATLANTA, Georgia - May 22, 2010 - Clifford Grevemberg doesn’t want to go to jail.

On Friday night, the lanky 18-year-old was arrested by Tybee police on a disorderly conduct charge in front of the Rock House on 16th Street.

He says he was tasered twice and thrown to the ground, breaking one of his front teeth and leaving scrapes on his face and knee.

But Grevemberg, who suffers from a form of autism, still wants to know what he did wrong.

State law allows teachers to Taser schoolchildren!

FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine - May 19, 2010 - As the School Administrative District (SAD) #20 school board for Fort Fairfield schools considers a proposal to allow Fort Fairfield Police officers to function as teachers in Fort Fairfield schools, fears parents have of Taser use on their children may require more serious thought.

A Taser is a gun-type object that electrocutes its victims with a 50,000 volt electric shock, rendering them temporarily incapacitated and in some cases has caused death. Police across the United States have been abusing their Tasers as if they were nothing more than fancy cattle prods to coerce and intimidate the citizenry they serve.

As cited in last edition of the Fort Fairfield Journal, Maine Revised Statutes, Title 17-A, section 106 states a teacher is justified to use a “reasonable degree of non-deadly force against any such person who creates a disturbance when and to the extent that the teacher or other entrusted person reasonably believes it necessary to control the disturbing behavior.” That section of law defines “reasonable degree of force” as “the physical force applied to the child which may result in no more than transient discomfort or minor temporary marks.”
