ROME, Italy (PNN) - January 18, 2021 - This weekend, over 50,000 restaurants in Italy began defying the country’s strict “anti-COVID” lockdown measures in a massive act of civil disobedience.

Italian restaurant owners have been spreading their “I Am Open” message through the social media hashtag #IoOpro (“I am opening”) and customers have turned the tables on the government.

WARSAW, Poland (PNN) - January 16, 2021 - On January 6, anti-Trump extremists stormed the Fascist Police States of Amerika Capitol complex and disrupted Congress's joint session. Days later, social media companies went on a free speech crusade against President Donald Trump, banning or limiting the president from various platforms, including Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat.

It appears some Polish government officials have denounced Big Tech's censorship of Trump. They are preparing to draft a law that will make it illegal for tech firms to ban accounts.

LONDON, England (PNN) - January 16, 2021 - People across England are about to be hit with a deluge of new government adverts on television, radio and social media containing one blunt demand: Stay at home.

It’s a familiar message - and that may be why the public seems to be shrugging it off.

The data shows Britons are far more active during the current third national lockdown than when the first emergency “stay at home” order was given last spring. There’s more traffic on the roads, more people on trains and more shoppers making trips out.

January 15, 2021 - By any measure, 2020 was not a very good year for human freedom. By now everyone is very familiar with the assaults on liberty stemming from measures ostensibly in the name of stopping the spread of COVID and the way in which such measures have threatened the very existence of the social order. Beyond such obscene and unprecedented measures, 2020 also demonstrated that the leaders of our society are truly incompetent and bungling. The ineptitude is truly staggering, even for skeptics of the state. When surveying the wreckage of last year one can’t help but feel a sense of dread and apprehension for the long-term health of our civilization.

PORTLAND, Oregon (PNN) - January 14, 2021 - For three days and counting, protesters in Oregon have gathered at a local bookstore to demand that it stop selling a new book critical of Antifa.

“Far-Left activists surrounded Powell’s Books in Portland on Monday and demanded the store stop selling Unmasked: Inside Antifa's Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy, a book about Antifa written by Andy Ngo,” Reason’s Robby Soave reports. “The protests forced the store to close early.”

NEW YORK (PNN) - January 14, 2021 - A group of restaurants won a lawsuit Wednesday challenging New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s coronavirus restrictions, meaning they will be allowed to open for business.

The restaurants argued that the governor’s restrictions prohibiting them from offering indoor dining were arbitrary and not based on evidence related to the coronavirus. Judge Henry J. Nowak agreed, writing in his decision that the state Department of Health (DOH) used unreliable contract tracing data to determine which areas were put under various restrictions.
