Sovereign citizens fight against government usurpation!
COLUMBUS, Ohio (PNN) - August 16, 2010 - They call themselves sovereign citizens, free men and women who declare themselves above state and federal laws. Many don't register children's births, carry driver's licenses or recognize the court system.
They base their beliefs on the fundamental laws of the united States of America, including the Declaration of Independence and the organic Constitution for the United States.
However, some people prey upon the desire for freedom by peddling programs that use fictional legal loopholes to eliminate debt and avoid foreclosures.
Sovereign Citizens are generally nonviolent, though many believe that violence is appropriate to combat illegal violations of their rights by government officials. For example, two police officers in Arkansas died in a shootout in May after stopping an Ohio sovereign citizen and his son.
Sovereign Citizens expect the current Amerikan system of government to end one way or another.
"I'm the Patrick Henry of the 21st century. I'm here to regain our freedom," James McBride said in a jailhouse interview. "I'm going to, or (I will) die trying."
