Thug cops Taser go-cart driver in low-speed chase!
ST. PAUL, Minnesota - August 15, 2010 - Police in Minnesota said a chase involving four police cruisers and a suspect in a go-cart ended when officers used a Taser to stun the suspect three times.
St. Paul police said the chase began at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday when an officer spotted the man driving the non-street-legal vehicle, which appeared to be a homemade go-cart with a lawnmower-sized engine, and attempted to pull the vehicle over, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported.
However, the driver refused to stop and three more police cruisers joined the chase, which reached top speeds of 20 mph. The officers eventually cornered the go-cart in a parking lot, where one officer used his Taser on the driver after he refused further orders to stop.
The vehicle stopped after the officer hit the driver with the stun gun a second time, and the suspect was shocked a third time when he attempted to struggle with officers.
The man, who refused to give his name to police, was booked into the Ramsey County Jail under the name John Doe on suspicion of fleeing police in a motor vehicle.
