Of course you can.  You have a right to earn a living, and you cannot be forced to pay any tax in order to enjoy your rights.

If you have rescinded your SSN, then you are foreign to United States federal jurisdiction.  Therefore, when you go to work for someone, you provide the employer with Form W-8BEN, which is a Certificate of Foreign Status. In this case, “foreign” means foreign to federal jurisdiction.
