Thug cop sentenced to 10 years in prison!
TOLEDO, Ohio - June 22, 2010 - An Ottawa Hills police officer has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting and paralyzing a man.
Officer Thomas White was sentenced Monday around 10 a.m. to 10 years in prison. He filed an appeal and an appeal bond, so he remains out of jail pending a judge's review.
Last month, White was found guilty of shooting 25-year-old Michael McCloskey in the back during a traffic stop.
The defense says White thought McCloskey was pulling out a gun.
White faced up to a maximum of 11 years in prison.
