RALEIGH, North Carolina - March 11, 2009 - A North Carolina judge has ordered three children to attend public schools this fall because the home schooling their mother has provided over the last four years needs to be "challenged."

The decision is raising eyebrows among home schooling families, and one friend of the mother has launched a website to publicize the issue.

The ruling was made by Judge Ned Mangum of Wake County, who was handling a divorce proceeding for Thomas and Venessa Mills.

A statement released by a publicist working for the mother, whose children now are 10, 11 and 12, said Mangum stripped her of her right to decide what is best for her children's education.

The children, however, have tested above their grade levels - by as much as two years.

Ed. Note: Public school is considered to be a government privilege; when you place your child in public school, s/he legally becomes a ward of the State! No judge can lawfully compel a parent to surrender her rights and submit her child to stewardship of the State!  Judge Mangum should be thrown off the bench and put in prison. The mother in this case should refuse to comply with the judge’s bogus order, even if she is threatened with jail.  That kind of courage will benefit her children far more than public school.  Furthermore, she would have the support of much of the national media, some attorney would certainly defend her pro bono, and she could therefore strike back against this criminal thug names Ned Mangum.
