Spanish authorities locking trashcans to stop hungry from foraging for food!
GIRONA, Spain (PNN) - September 25, 2012 - According to New York Times columnist Suzanne Daley, the economic crisis has gotten so bad in Spain that one city has resorted to installing locks on supermarket trash bins as a public health precaution, thereby preventing the truly hungry from foraging for food.
One Catholic charity reported that in 2011 it had fed more than double the number of citizens it had assisted in 2007.
A massive protest is planned for today to protest the government's austerity measures.
