KHMEIMIM, Syria (PNN) - January 9, 2018 - Russian security forces of the Khmeimim air base and Russian Naval CSS point in the city of Tartus thwarted a terrorist attack “with massive application of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) through the night of January 5-6, 2018,” according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The attack came just two days after an Islamic faction operating in the area launched a barrage of mortar rounds at the airbase severely damaging two planes.

On Dec. 20, federal judge Gloria Navarro declared a mistrial in the case against Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and others after prosecutors were caught withholding massive amounts of evidence undermining federal charges. REYKJAVIK, Iceland (PNN) - January 4, 2018 - One European country just made it illegal to pay men more than women.

Thanks to a new law, Icelandic firms that employ more than 25 people must obtain a government certificate demonstrating pay equality, under new rules that came into effect on January 1.

Those who fail to prove pay equality will face penalties, including fines.
