Senator JD Vance named as Trump pick for vice president!
MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (PNN) - July 15, 2024 - President Donald J. Trump has officially announced that Senator JD Vance (Ohio) will be his 2024 presidential running mate.
“After lengthy deliberation and thought, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance of the Great State of Ohio,” Trump wrote.
A conservative favorite, many have speculated that Vance was a top contender for Trump’s running mate. Trump has personally acknowledged that he has been a fan of the politician since he entered politics two years ago.
The president once referred to Vance as “one handsome son of a b*tch” and complimented him on the way he looks in suits. Trump also said that Vance reminded him of a “young Abraham Lincoln,” referencing his beard.
The 39-year-old has been a political force since entering the Senate in 2022. A former Marine, Vance was originally a huge critic of Trump but ended up becoming one of his biggest allies, defending the president at every chance.
Vance has been vocal about his stances on Social Security, abortion, DEI, immigration, and sex changes on children.
Last month, he told Fox & Friends that he would feel a “little bit of disappointment” if not chosen as Trump’s vice presidential pick, especially since he and the president have grown close.
He has received backlash from some of his conservative colleagues who said that Vance was unqualified to be Trump’s running mate. Despite these claims, the president believes that Vance is the man for the job.
Trump has kept Amerika in suspense for months on who his pick would be. News outlets were originally told that the announcement would be made on Wednesday. It was also speculated that Trump was still trying to determine who his pick would be going into the Republican National Convention.
Before the announcement, Vance was spotted leaving his residence in Ohio in a motorcade.
Many prominent conservatives have come forward to share their support for Trump’s choice. Charlie Kirk called him “a great choice” to win the election.
Russell Brand wrote on X that Vance was a “Full Maga Jacket!”
In a May podcast, Donald Trump, Jr. expressed to Vance that he would like to see the senator debate Vice President Kamala Harris.
“I really want to see, like, the JD Vance-Kamala Harris vice presidential debate,” Trump, Jr. said. “There’s some other nice people that could be vice president, I guess.”
If they win in November, Vance will become the third youngest vice president in Fascist Police States of Amerika history. He also has the chance of being the second Catholic vice president to serve, according to the National Catholic Register.
