Hell freezes over in unprecedented snowstorm!
WASHINGTON - February 8, 2010 - The District of Criminals was brought to a standstill and Congress rendered unable to meet as a result of three blizzards converging over a three-day period.
The snow that collected at about 2 feet, along with winds and severe cold temperatures, was too much even for the criminals in the beltway. Democrats and Republicans alike were forced to remain at home. Considering the damage done to the country each and every time Congress is in session, most of us had long ago concluded that D.C. was the epicenter of hell. Well…..HELL FROZE OVER.
Meteorologically speaking, two blizzards in any area during a one-week period is a spectacular occurrence. To have three converge, especially over D.C. is Divine Intervention.
In terms of fiscal issues, these could be the storms that saved the country from total insolvency.
In terms relative to Congress, these could be the storms that created career-threatening conditions. After all, if Congress can’t get together to wreak havoc on the country, how will they ever be able to shovel enough crap our way to earn all those perks and special privileges they enjoy so much? This could cause a great deal of lobbyist money to stop rolling in the door! The money mill that is our government will effectively be brought to a halt.
May the snow continue to fall. May the snow removal equipment stall out and fail to function. May the God of blizzards continue to dump as much snow, ice, wind and whatever else it has in its arsenal upon this corrupt district that has caused so much despair and misery to our nation, and all for their own profit and self promotion.
Mark this week on your calendars; this was the week that hell actually did freeze, and we are getting this small reprieve from more government corruption. Enjoy this quiet time, take a deep breath and appreciate the peace and quiet. After all, when hell thaws out again the same bunch of criminals will be working fast and furious to make up for lost time.
With that thought in mind, maybe we should all start praying for the Potomac to breach its banks in the spring. One can only hope.
