French police probe missing plastic explosives!
PARIS, France - July 21, 2008 -
French anti-terrorism police are investigating the theft of 28 kg (61 lbs) of
plastic explosives from a site near the southeastern city of Lyon, officials
said on Friday.
Staff at a mine clearance center at Corbas, near Lyon, noticed that thieves had apparently broken into the site, which was not guarded, and taken explosives and detonators.
Interior ministry spokesman Gerard Gachet told France's LCI television that the director of the center had been suspended for allowing the explosives to be stored at the unsecured site.
