Stephanopoulos may be done at ABC News after $15 million Trump-defamation settlement!
NEW YORK (PNN) - December 18, 2024 - George Stephanopoulos may be out at ABC News after CEO Bob Iger decided to pay out a $15 million defamation settlement to President Donald J. Trump, plus $1 million to cover President Trump's attorney’s fees.
Trump's defamation case against ABC News was related to statements made by the This Week host George Stephanopoulos.
Trump sued ABC News earlier this year after Stephanopoulos claimed Trump was "found liable for rape" by a Manhattan jury in the E. Jean Carroll case.
In 2019, E. Jean Carroll alleged Donald Trump raped her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the 1990s.
Trump denied the allegations and called E. Jean Carroll a "whack job" who's "not my type."
The jury found that Trump found that Trump did not rape her.
Stephanopoulos - who is a known liar who regularly defames people in order to get ratings for his show - was forced to apologize as part of the Trump defamation settlement.
