LONDON, England (PNN) - October 7, 2020 - Coronavirus passport trials are taking place at Heathrow this week to test technology to let people travel the globe without risk of being quarantined.

Passengers on United Airlines and Cathay Pacific are trying out an app called the CommonPass.

The phone software is a digital health pass that can hold a certified COVID-19 test status or show someone has been vaccinated in the future in a way designed to satisfy various governments' different regulations.

It has been launched by non-profit trust Commons Project Foundation, part of the World Economic Forum, in the hope it will end the days of flyers producing bits of paper, often in different languages.

BANGKOK, Thailand (PNN) - October 6, 2020 - A new technology being used in shops in Thailand and other countries to enforce unlawful coronavirus restrictions conducts a face scan to check if the customer is wearing a mask and refuses entry if he/she doesn’t have one.

The system resembles something you’d see as part of airport security. The customer walks up to a screen that displays the words “Face Detector”. The system then scans to check if the customer is wearing a mask before allowing him or her to pass through a barrier.

SOUTHFIELD, Michigan (PNN) - October 6, 2020 - Friday afternoon the Michigan Supreme Court issued a ruling that many of Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s emergency orders regarding COVID-19 safety are not legal.

The stunning ruling said she illegally drew authority from a 1945 law that doesn't apply. One aspect the court pointed out was the redeclaring states of emergency in what has been a string of orders from Whitmer. The state of emergency is meant to last 28 days.

KONSTANZ, Germany (PNN) - October 5, 2020 - Thousands of demonstrators in southern Germany protested the federal government's new social distancing restrictions over the weekend.

Demonstrators were seen in Konstanz, a city on Lake Constance, in southern Germany, on Saturday and Sunday, displeased by Chancellor Angela Merkel's new restrictions to limit the size of gatherings.

"We want to act regionally, specifically and purposefully, rather than shutting down the whole country again - this must be prevented at all costs," Merkel told a virtual news conference on Tuesday.

WINTER SPRINGS, Florida (PNN) - October 5, 2020 - The lawyer for the family of a 16-year-old boy who was arrested last month after refusing to wear a mask at a central Florida high school called the incident “government abuse” of a teen suffering from panic attacks.

The Winter Springs High School sophomore, whose name was redacted on the September 17 report, was arrested after refusing to wear a mask and abide by other school rules, which violated a probation order that required him to maintain good behavior in school.

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (PNN) - September 29, 2020 - Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron has agreed to comply with a judge’s order to release grand jury proceedings from the Breonna Taylor case after a juror filed a motion on Monday demanding the materials be released.

The unnamed juror filed the motion on Monday seeking release of the records because he or she felt Cameron had misled the public during his press briefing announcing the grand jury’s decision to charge one of the pig thug cops indicted in Taylor’s death with wanton recklessness for firing gunshots into a neighboring apartment.
