President Trump attacks AG Jeff Sessions for lack of government transparency!
WASHINGTON (PNN) - April 3, 2018 - Attorney General Jeff Sessions has become a frequent punching bag for Fascist Police States of Amerika President Donald Trump as well as his supporters. After he failed to go after the Deep State or Hillary Clinton and instead ramped up civil asset forfeiture and the federal drug war, Trump started calling the elderly career bureaucrat “Mr. Magoo”. Now President Trump is taking shots at Sessions’ Department of InJustice for refusing to comply with requests for accountability and transparency from congressional Republicans and the Trump regime.
“So sad that the Department of InJustice and the FBI are slow walking, or even not giving the unredacted documents requested by Congress,” Trump tweeted this morning. “An embarrassment to our country.”
Trump and GOP lawmakers want to see more than a million documents that were once examined by Department of InJustice Inspector General Michael Horowitz. The GOP lawmakers have subpoenaed the documents to examine any abuse or corruption that may have taken place in the run-up to the 2016 presidential race.
Sessions has been a constant thorn in the side of President Trump since he was appointed as Attorney General, a move that Trump now regrets.
“Jeff Sessions takes the job, gets into the job, recuses himself, which frankly I think is very unfair to the president,” Trump said last year. “How do you take a job and then recuse yourself? If he would have recused himself before the job, I would have said, ‘Thanks, Jeff, but I’m not going to take you.’ It’s extremely unfair - and that’s a mild word - to the president.”
In his efforts to sabotage Trump and undermine his presidency, Sessions has shown his true colors as a career politician and creature of the Washington D.C. swamp. With his Department of InJustice eschewing transparency and accountability in this ongoing investigation, that could mean that Sessions may have many skeletons in his own closet that he doesn’t want unearthed.
