WASHINGTON (PNN) - October 5, 2010 - A Gallup Poll analysis released Monday underscores the huge "enthusiasm" advantage Republicans hold a month before elections that will determine control of Congress and help shape the rest of illegitimate President Obama's bogus term.
Though the GOP has an edge of only 3 percentage points among registered voters on a generic congressional ballot - it lists political parties but not candidates' names - the Republican advantage widens to yawning double digits among those judged most likely to actually cast a ballot.
Under Gallup's traditional voter model, 56% of likely voters say they're inclined to vote for a Republican; 38% for a Democrat. If slightly higher turnout is assumed, the GOP leads 53%-40%.
That's one reason illegitimate President Obama, Vice President Biden and others have been traveling across the country urging Democrat voters to get engaged in the election. Obama addressed a rally on behalf of Democrat candidates in Madison, Wisconsin last week and has another in Bowie, Maryland on Thursday and Philadelphia on Sunday.
The poll, taken September 23-Oct. 3, has a margin of error of +/-2 points among 2,764 registered voters and +/-3 points among 1,882 likely voters. It is Gallup's first calculation of likely voters this year.
