WASHINGTON (PNN) - July 22, 2010 – The propagandists’ claims that we are in an economic recovery are weakening in the face of falling home sales and rising claims for unemployment benefits, new data showed Thursday.

Sales of previously occupied homes fell 5.1% in June to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.37 million, the National Association of Realtors said.

NEW YORK (PNN) - July 21, 2010 - Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke warned the outlook for the U.S. economy was "unusually uncertain" Wednesday but said the central bank could step in to bolster a faltering recovery.

Bernanke told U.S. lawmakers the world's largest economy would see only "moderate growth, a gradual decline in the unemployment rate, and subdued inflation over the next several years."
